What I do is to access plugin using file manager or FTP, delete the old plugin folder and upload the new one. But you can also do as you said, deactivate and delete the previous version and install the new one.

sometimes when I do refresh the WP dashboard the errors appears! then after another refresh it goes away! but all goes to elementor the free and Pro!
Installed this plugin and the errors with descriptions appeared
