2)if i create profile backlinks will that increase my site DA?

Yes, obviously blog comments do help SEO. Since they can bring direct traffic to your blog. in simple words, if you select high profile blogs in your industry and leave intelligent and meaningful comments, people will definitely click over to your site if they like what you are saying.

it takes 6-8 weeks for most links to show...sometimes up to 5 months with Moz.

Performing any task or action without a study or research won’t get you the best result.
So, my suggestion is don’t create a profile for the sake of getting a link to your site.
Build Your Proper profile with Image, Email, Address, Phone Number or other details which are required while profile creation.
Dofollow Profile Creation will pass link juice to your linking page or domain.
So, it is better to create dofollow profile rather that no follow profile.
