I recommend to use Open Source app for an Android called NewPipe.
Its very light, small, no ads, supports background playback, option to only play audio, supports its own youtube gallery where you can download audio/video from youtube, saving data. set quality. its excelent let me tell you.
Its free and opensource.

I'm playing YouTube music in background on my Samsung A10 smartphone using Kiwi Browser. I would like to mention here for someone who need it

Download Kiwi Browser from Play store > Enable "Desktop site" in the browser > Access You tube website > Play You tube music > close the browser

now, you can hear YT music in background and see in notification bar
